Congress: Speaking and Individual/Team Presentation Contests State 4H and FFA delegates from across the United States participate in a variety of youth activities during the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Hippology, Horse Bowl, Public Speaking and Demonstrations are just a few ways youth can experience the thrill of competition during the Congress. For more information on these contests, please see each individual contest.
Lodging: For Hotel Reservations: www.oqhareservations.com If you have questions contact OQHA at 740-943-3906 or reservations@oqha.com. Objectives: To help youth gain self-confidence, to develop their ability to speak on, demonstrate, or illustrate their skill of horse activity and share it with others, and to develop skills in effective organization and presentation. Public speaking is the ability to inform others about horse related subjects and youth horse programs through verbal communication alone. An individual/team presentation shows a step by step procedure, and explains why each step is essential to develop a particular skill, or task. These presentations incorporate the use of visual aids, (posters, supplies, equipment, etc.) that illustrates the topic being discussed. Coaches Meeting: A brief meeting 15 minutes prior to the start of the contest will be held to answer any questions and to assign order of go. Rules, maps of the location of buildings, order of speakers and any other necessary information will be sent to each team on September 26th. The contest will be in Rhodes Center beginning at 8am. Check in will be in the cafeteria. For further information on All American Quarter Horse Congress Show and Event schedules, contact: |
